Dance Radio Stations broadcasting DJ sets around the World go in here. If you know some very interesting radio station that are not in the list, do not hesitate to add it. The list contains the radio stations, links to the main radio show or the schedule (if there are more than just one or two interesting shows), it also provides info about the available broadcasting format(s) on a local basis (FM), a regional or country-wide basis (DAB, DVB-T, Freeview, cable), continent-wide broadcasts (DVB-S) or even worldwide broadcasts (internet).
If you are looking for possibilities to access certain radios but do not know how to, then do the following:
- For analogue FM and cable broadcasts: simply check your radio or look for the stations your cable provider is offering.
- For terrestrial digital audio broadcasts, check DAB frequencies and available bitrates here. The list is updated daily!
- For satellite digital audio broadcasts, check available beams, frequencies and coordinates here:Worldwide Satellite Radio Stations Info. For Europe, the fleet of Astra satellites is especially important. The definite source for bitrates of satellite digital audio broadcasts is quite new and updated daily!
- For digital internet audio broadcasts, just check the direct links provided together with the list of radio stations below. Given are always the streams with the highest quality. For satellite radios additionally offering internet broadcasts you will find a huge list with direct links to net broadcasts at Lyngsat as well. You can also check lists at Tuner2.com (AAC+) and at Shoutcast.com (MP3) for lots of internet radios. A more exotic list of internet radios can be found at Xiph.org (Ogg Vorbis).
Some entries for digital broadcasts are in part color-coded. Cells with a green background color indicate broadcasts in exceptionally high quality. Cells with a red background color indicate digital audio data with a bitrate that is not suitable for recording and is certainly not suitable for an upload to TMB. Minimum acceptable bitrates for the MP2 format (DAB, DVB-S, DVB-T) are 160kbit/s, for MP3 broadcasts at least 128kbit/s, for AAC+ broadcasts at least 80kbit/s. If several digital formats are available for each radio station, only those with the highest quality are shown. Note that UK internet broadcasts are restricted to UK residents and are not allowed to be delivered outside the UK - your degree of success in getting the streams will vary - sometimes it works, sometimes it does not!!
