Nottslocationuk.jpg

Nottingham is located in the east midlands in the UK, and is the home to two universities and about 20,000 students. This leads to lots of Cheese clubs, with uni nights being spread around Ocean, Isis and Oceana on monday, wednesday and friday. Stealth is the only full time proper club, and is home to a glittering multitude of nights.

Stealth

Stealth is a 700 capacity (more when the Rescue Rooms is included) venue that houses one of the few Funktion One Sound Systems in the UK.

With a music policy based around Techno, house and Breaks, a no attitude door policy and an anything goes rave vibe, this is the party you will love, even if you don't know it yet!!!

Having recently celebrated our 6th birthday, a bit of info for you! We were the first club night in the country to play from Breaks to Techno in the same room, we've played host to a huge list of DJs and live acts and we've got the mother of all lineups sorted for the beginning of our monthly Ballroom Bash.

Starting life at the Nottingham Summer Party in 2000, the first 3 years saw regular slots at the Marcus Garvey Ballroom, with massive amounts of effort put into the décor of the venue, and a lot of thought going into the lineup, Firefly quickly built up a reputation in the midlands for hosting a party like no other.

Between then and now, Firefly hosted its legendary residency at the very famous, but now sadly defunct club, The Bomb, as well as appearing at many great events including Nottingham Summer Party every year. Since The Bomb closed, a slot opened at Nottingham's newest nightclub, Stealth and we resided there for a year up until now…

From here on in, we’re going back to our spiritual home, The Marcus Garvey Ballroom (http://www.the-ballroom.co.uk), for a new monthly bash and we’d like you to come and play! With line-ups that’ll keep you boogying till tomorrow, a world class sound system, new lighting and even a marquee for a chill-out space, complete with bean bags and fairy lights, come find your new home.

bottom line: expect 10 feet robots, fire eaters, party people and of course music to make your knees wobble!!

Gatecrasher Loves Nottingham (old name media)

GATECRASHER, one of the most revered and celebrated clubbing brands in the history of British youth culture today unveiled plans for its Nottingham club. The Queen Street club is to be transformed into a state of the art venue. The launch of the club forms part of a wider remit at Gatecrasher and is in response to the ever-changing needs and desires of its clubbers and nightlife pleasure seekers that have frequented the club over the last ten years. From 15th September 2007, the Gatecrasher-owned former Elite Buildings will be renamed “GATECRASHERLOVESNOTTINGHAM”. At the same time Gatecrasher will be spending £1.5 million pounds completely refurbishing, re-branding and re-launching this fabulous Grade II* listed building to make it a designer led, state of the art club unlike anything Nottingham has ever seen promising New Styles / News Sounds & a New Attitude.

With 4 levels, 2 clubs and 4 bars to explore, the venue will feature a lavish interior, building on Elite Building’s already extravagant neo-classical style, the club will fuse authentic and classic design with contemporary style and cutting edge technology. Each room will feature futuristic and radical design with the bespoke high standards synonymous with a Gatecrasher club. The venue is one of the best examples of a Victorian theatre anywhere in the UK and the design team have retained and emphasised the glamour and quality of the original building whilst at the same time introducing a funky and fun scheme of bright colours, hand printed wallpapers, classic furniture pieces and intelligent lighting to complement and accentuate this beautiful building. Bold modern finishes will juxtapose with some of the venues original styling to create a dramatic and awe inspiring effect. Mies van der Rohe furniture, Paco Rabanne inspired styling and Warhol themed imagery are just some of the surprises in store.

The Lobby provides a stylish, glamorous entrance, elegant velvet drapes with LED Lighting to set the tone, the perfect setting for that Grand Entrance. The spectacular Auditorium will take your breath away!. The original and opulent 1920s design interior architecture will be brought to life, featuring the latest emergent visual and audio technologies with state of the art lasers and lighting. Mesmerizing video shows dominate the space on a 20ft LED Dream Panel Screen and the famous Phazon Sound System. Deco: a second room with attitude and packing more style than a Milan catwalk, oh-so very stylish Deco with its wall to ceiling mirrors, suede finished wallpaper and luxury Italian furniture. The room to dance, drink and be seen in. The Mandarin Extravaganza! an altogether more laid back vibe with a rich and exotic colour scheme with Chinese dog statues, plush orange leather booths, which are available to hire for that big night out. Drynk: Instantly unique with an unashamedly glamorous interior, this lavish space is both alluring and enchanting in equal measure. And now top the very to floor! Bed Sheffield was the haunt of the Nottingham elite for so many years….Nottingham, have we got news for you….we graciously honour you with the return of Bed. Paco Rabanne meets Milan! The entire top floor of the venue is the height of elegance, Bed transports you to an altogether different world, Silver Guilt with Splashes of contemporary Italian Furniture, 80’s Warhol inspired imagery & Dancefloor to suit. A world of class and sophistication. Bed to the Bone for those who know, Lets all get back into Bed! Paco Rabanne meets Milan! The entire top floor of the venue and the height of elegance, Bed transports you to an altogether different world, Silver Guilt with Splashes of contemporary Italian Furniture, 80’s Warhol inspired imagery & Dancefloor to suit. A world of class and sophistication!

GATECRASHERLOVESNOTTINGHAM is to become an all-encompassing entertainment destination providing a full-on club-land experience fused with style & sophistication. More than just a club, GatecrasherLovesNottingham has been designed for people who like party in style. It combines the concept of the fashionable late night bar with the modern day club scene offering a range of music and design concepts.

There is entertainment and music to suit all tastes and pleasures. The music policy on a Saturday will be varied with a broad appeal covering all genres of music from the funkiest house and the biggest floorfillers to the smoothest R&B Grooves. Friday nights will showcase the biggest names in global dance and feature music style from trance to house, drum & bass to techno….right across the board. Gatecrasher has teamed up with the official Nottingham University Athletics Union on Wednesday to host a flagship student night at the venue plus Nottingham’s biggest Thursday, Chic, returns to the venue Weekly.

Simon Raine founder and architect of GATECRASHER said

““The very essence of club culture and nightclubs means that they constantly need to evolve in terms of design, aesthetics and allure. With Gatecrasher Nottingham we aim to unveil a brand new, modern and futuristic looking nightclub for the 21st Century, based very much in keeping with the Gatecrasher ethic and style of the ultimate clubbing experience; stunning environments, great service and a music policy in sync with the trends and fashions of the moment. Creating the perfect club experience and the right nightclub, is all about the right venue, the right combination of sound, interior design, lighting, production and musical programming in which to create a hedonistic experience, something which Gatecrasher has become renowned for.”

To transform the club, Gatecrasher hired top interior designer Matt Rawlinson from RAW. Matt is Gatecrasher Group’s go-to design mind and is responsible for the design of all Gatecrasher clubs.

Matt summed up the design concept for GatecrasherLovesNottingham by saying;

“The allure of the Nottingham venue is in its unique layout of space, so the idea to create a variety of experiences under one roof was a natural theme. The areas will morph and alter during the evenings, breaking the space into functional zones. The design concept for GatecrasherLovesNottingham will combine the grandeur of the existing features of the building with modern flourishes alongside cutting edge technology. The essence was focussed on bringing out the Grade II listed plasterwork, friezing and fresco features back to life through extensive restoration work. We have retained some of the original features installed during the creation of Media in the late 90s, combining these features with bold colours, carefully sourced furniture and unique fittings to create a highly distinctive new club.”

GATECRASHER proudly remains one of the most potent and recognisable names in world clubbing. The Queen Street venue is the third club to be branded and developed under the GATECRASHER umbrella alongside GATECRASHER ONE in Sheffield (currently being rebuilt after a fire) and GATECRASHER DISCOTHÈQUE in Leeds.

The company, which also owns a 3000-capacity club in Birmingham and the renowned Area nightclub in Watford, has also confirmed that it is looking at several new sites in major cities across the UK as part of a 10-club, £15 million expansion plan. GATECRASHERLOVESNOTTINGHAM will be announcing its musical line up over the coming weeks.
